the best...and the least expensive one that is much nicer than the fake leather unless you really like one of the designs. this is great for any adult too, and its fun, and i gave to my family (adults) as nice translation and fun pedgogy built in for teaching or encouraging kids or adults to read. i just discovered this translation and really like it. i would love it to be translated to spanish and portuguese. It is great for second language speakers who are not native speakers. so, it would be nice in other languages for me to use for study or others like me.this is very nice well made cut cheap version of fun cool looking gift bible to anyone. i bought 6 and buying another one and keep giving mine away.nice little magnet cover. its nice and under 20$you could throw them at people and they would love you...its nice as just something to be seen.

Great Bible for a new reader. Sturdy enough for a 6-year-old boy to cart to and from church, too.

Bought this for our 8yo son. Love the early readers version, he can easily read the passages himself. He loves the interior layout and especially likes this cover. I like the flap that closes over the cover to protect the pages when he carries it around. We have this same Bible with a different cover (without the flap) for our daughter and the pages have definitely received some abuse.

Not a storybook bible. The Word translated in a young reader format but still with adult themes needing to be discussed with an adult.

This is a really good beginner Bible. Our daughter is so excited about it. We also got the cover to go with it. The only problem is that this particular one is very heavy. I was surprised that a beginner Bible would be so heavy. Our 5 year old complains about how heavy it is. But it is well-made and the magnetic closure is nice.

Absolutely perfect for my 8 year old!

I really like this Bible for my 7 year old daughter. She's a good reader and so far we are enjoying reading it together each night. She likes the little boxes with additional information throughout the pages as well. Great buy!

What a fantastic, practical book to guide Independent Educational Consultants and their students on their college admissions journeys. The subtitle says it all. This is a BLUEPRINT for choosing the Best Schools for you. As a college counselor, I agree that finding "best fit schools" means looking beyond just the most famous brand name schools. The task is overwhelming and this book can help. First, the Preface dispels many myths about the process. I love the many worksheets. I use "Worksheet 1: Self-Survey for the College Bound" (+ MBTI) as part of my intake process to help me "get" my students and figure out how they tick. The book is very thorough. It's a good way for students to keep track of thoughts as priorities and requirements change over the high school years. "Worksheet 10: Application Timetable" is a good tracking sheet. "Worksheet 11: Campus Visit Notes" are great because you can compare notes. Otherwise, after visiting multiple schools, your impressions can become a big blur. "Worksheet 13: Essay Brainstorming" has a nice list of adjectives that can help students write more descriptive essays.

Very helpful. If you and your child use this book together it will help you zero in on the "right" college for them. It really takes the stress out of the college search.

I use this book in my college planning business.

Not helpful. The worksheets lead to nowhere and the advice about how to pick a college, include "talk to your parents" and "check out the college planning apps available for your smartphone". Not worth buying

I had to buy this for school. Repetitive in places, but I think it's a good start for the college bound.

Seems to be a worthwhile book. However, the pages were out of order in the edition we received.

I thought it was quite good. I am having my daughter who is a Junior in high school read it and complete the worksheets. Don't know at this point how beneficial it is.

I picked up a copy of this book because my students were reading it for their English class and I like to throw them off by slipping literary references into Algebra class. I figured it was a short book, it wouldn't take along time, and it would give me a sense for what they were learning in their other classes (and maybe spark some cross-curricular ideas!)Oh man, was that a mistake. It didn't do any of those things (and apparently kids these days don't actually read their summer reading, what a shame). Instead, I fell deeply in love with this book and have read it three times in the last two years. It's the kind of book that works on more than one level - you have your hero who goes on an adventure, learning from a wise mentor, hitting roadblocks, coming to know himself and the world around him before realizing that his true treasure was in himself all along, and if that's all you get out of the book, then that's fine, but there's more going on here.The difficulty of the book is figuring out what that more is. The book constantly suggests and hints at lessons that seem at once a comment on ethics and metaphysics, history and anthropology, post-colonialist critique and folk fairy tale. Biblical allusions abound next to Islamic lessons on the nature of God while institutions and mysticism are equally likely to be evoked and revoked. There's always the sense as you read that there is something lingering under the surface, but the minute that you try to grab it (or write it in a review) it seems to disappear.That seems to be the point of the book, that the message is clear if you read it without trying to grab it. Hold it loosely and it comes easily, try to describe it and it flits away. The book is allusive; it works on you without seeming to, and at the end you're left both satisfied as the adventure concludes and also wanting more, or perhaps wanting to do more. Perhaps that's why I like this book so much - it doesn't yield its secrets easily, or perhaps it yields it too easily, and you finish wondering where your heart and your treasure lie and what your personal legend might be. I imagine that this book might say more about its reader than its text: when you know your own heart and your own journey well enough, perhaps this will only remain a passing, although enjoyable fairy tale.

So, I'm on a part of my life right now where I'm 25. A year fresh after graduating, and have a new found love and appreciation for books. I'm in such a place where I'm trying to discover what I am supposed to do. I'm a spiritual person, and I really felt that this book is talking to me. I'm sure everyone would resonate differently with the book. But the theme and the message is there.I'm not done reading it yet, but when I started. I read like the first 80 pages nonstop. Really soak in the message and lessons. I can't wait to finish this book.EDIT:So, I finally finished the book. And wow, never would have I thought, a book would have such an impact on me. It's a simple tale but filled with lessons if you are seeking it. I read it in like 3 sittings. I'm not much of a reader and just starting to appreciate it, and I am glad this was one of the books I read. Love it.

Fortunately, I learned a lesson far greater than what the book could teach me; Amazon reviews do not determine the quality of a story.

I purchased and began reading this book 2 years ago and, for whatever reason, I couldn't get into it. I found it incredibly dull and tedious and finally gave up halfway through.A few weeks ago I took my mother to a dental appointment and opened my Kindle to see what I had available while I waited. I decided to give this book another try and started from the beginning, as I couldn't remember anything from what I read previously. I'm not sure what was different this time around, but I was completely engrossed and my 2 hour wait flew by! I continued to read whenever I found a chance and finished it within a few days. I now find myself constantly thinking of the story and relating it to my own life, as well as my friends and family.It's a short and very simple story, but definitely worth reading!

This book was a poorly written schlock of new age rubbish. It started out ok but then about the 10th time “Personal Legend” was teferenced it lost me. The narrative is ok until the boy leaves the crystal store and then it’s just unreadable. I really don’t see anything deep or profound here other than persevere I guess and you’ll get what you want. Whatever.

This is literally where it all began, my story intertwined so thoroughly with that of the young sheepherder that I was mesmerized and unable to put it down. If you look through my purchase list you will see I didn't stop here - I became obsessed with Paulo Coelho's work and have purchased almost all of his writings. This is my go to gift for all friends, acquaintances, and family members. Words that can be cherished a lifetime and continually brought back to throughout your journey. There were many parts that I read over two or three times -- not because I didn't understand, but I was so amazed that I found myself wanting to experience a passage again.The vendor that I purchased from, Bullet's' Bonanza's, was extremely kind and professional, including a personal note in the package. I would gladly do business with them again.

It seemed like this book was written for a sixth grader. Did not live up to the hype.

Great tips for new clinical instructors.

Easy to read and divided into short logical sections. They provide good clinical examples for each chapter and point they are making. Good source to help a new clinical instructor develop & implement their role .

This is an excellent resource for the novice clinical instructor. It validated my feelings of uncertainty when I changed roles as a hospital nurse and went to work as a clinical instructor. The author helped me appreciate that you have to learn how to teach. Her words were plain-spoken and practical. Some nursing textbooks are full of theory and make an effort to impress you with their pseudo-intellectual vocabulary. This book is REAL and has been a big help to me on the job.

Overall this book is great. However I personally consider it more of a reference book than a how to book. It doesn't really "teach" you anything. It just shows pictures of anime girls along with the construction shapes and then basically expects you to draw it yourself. Which is okay for Advanced-Beginners and intermediate artists but I wouldn't recommend it for absolute beginners.I find all the art to be top notch however I find the examples in the first part of the book(up until page 86) significantly better than the second part of the book. You can tell that the artists that Mr. Hart commissioned for this book are experts in drawing anime and know what they are doing - I am very impressed by their work. In fact out of all the american made how to draw anime/manga books This one and a few of Chris Harts other recent Anime books, feature Anime characters that are the closest to the type of you'd find in actual Japanese anime. Many other american made how to draw manga books(including some of Mr. Hart's older books) feature art that is Americanized and/or poorly drawn and doesn't compare well to authentic anime. The authors of these books often think all you need to be "Anime" is big eyes. It is refreshing to get a book that features anime character's that look very close to the ones you'd see on TV or Crunchyroll.Again this is in excellent book for references and for practice but to learn the basic techniques and skills of drawing for absolute beginner's I'd recommend Mark Crilley's "The Drawing Lesson".Overall I consider this to be an excellent book and earns my recommendation. The artists who did the art for this book did an amazing job and I commend them on their work.

I love this book. I never knew how to draw anything, not even a stick figure, the only art class I took was ceramics because I just couldn’t draw anything and this book helps you step by step, I’m on the first page and my drawing of a girls headTurn out great, my friends didn’t believe I drew it. I’ll post more pics on what the book looks like inside (or on youtube because the author discuss about it page by page) and my progress on the drawing, the first drawings where on the notebook as you can tell they are horrible but then once I did a bigger version, it came out good, 😊 recommended for beginners or for everyone,

These books are so loved by my artist friends that I love getting them and showing them to new people so they can enjoy his teaching style.

From character structure to design and style this is a great book!I absolutely love the fact that there are personality types described in this book in case you aren't sure how to make your characters.

Compared to some books it seems a little thin on actual instructional content, but this one is actually pretty good. Pair this with some real world fashion magazines and start cranking out some pretty cartoon girls!

We bought this as a Christmas eve book gift for our 14 year old. (We've adopted the Icelandic tradition of giving books on Christmas eve.) She's already drawn several of the characters and just loves it. Definite win on this gift!

If you're a fan of Dishonored and you like comics I Highly recommend not skipping this as a read. The Art Is very goregous to look at. The story it tells flows with the videogame fluidly. The only thing that keeps this from being 5 stars is no Emily in this story but im hoping support for this will keep the series going for more stories to come.

Beautiful artwork and easy read. Easy to follow the story and quickly become immersed into. Love it.

I was a bit disappointed with the quality and intrigue of this graphic novel. I found it fell far short of the compelling action and plot in the Dishonored games, and was also disappointed with how short it was. It did not significantly add to the story of Dishonored as I was expecting it to. Finally, some of the pages fell out while I was reading it, so clearly it could have been published better. I would not recommend it. You'd get a more satisfying story with The Corroded Man (novel).

Okay, this is NOT the collection of 4 like it seems to imply. This is just the first volume of the four. Which is super lame because they jacked up the price. The cover blatantly says $3.99. I was disappointed to see that this wasn't the nice and neat complied volume. I contacted amazon about this and got my money back. They were going to let me get a new one for free shipping, but I'm not positive they are even advertising the 4 part volume, and I didn't want the same thing to happen. Will buy somewhere else.
