If you're a fan of Dishonored and you like comics I Highly recommend not skipping this as a read. The Art Is very goregous to look at. The story it tells flows with the videogame fluidly. The only thing that keeps this from being 5 stars is no Emily in this story but im hoping support for this will keep the series going for more stories to come.

Beautiful artwork and easy read. Easy to follow the story and quickly become immersed into. Love it.

I love

I was a bit disappointed with the quality and intrigue of this graphic novel. I found it fell far short of the compelling action and plot in the Dishonored games, and was also disappointed with how short it was. It did not significantly add to the story of Dishonored as I was expecting it to. Finally, some of the pages fell out while I was reading it, so clearly it could have been published better. I would not recommend it. You'd get a more satisfying story with The Corroded Man (novel).

Okay, this is NOT the collection of 4 like it seems to imply. This is just the first volume of the four. Which is super lame because they jacked up the price. The cover blatantly says $3.99. I was disappointed to see that this wasn't the nice and neat complied volume. I contacted amazon about this and got my money back. They were going to let me get a new one for free shipping, but I'm not positive they are even advertising the 4 part volume, and I didn't want the same thing to happen. Will buy somewhere else.

I've read this book 3 or 4 times now, so it's fair to say I like it. I enjoy the "survival" genre of non-fiction and this is the best at making you feel you are there that I have read. You feel his thirst, sense his despair and are in awe of his skill and determination. He writes well, with an easy and unhurried flow that matches the pace of his voyage, yet there are never any dull places. I'm not a sailor, other than a little in Boy Scout days (Callahan was also a Boy Scout and includes his Scouting days in his list of things that prepared him for survival), but reading "Adrift" always makes me wish I had been one.A great short read that I love going back to ever so often to be reminded how tough the human spirit can be.

Being an avid reader of ship wreck stories and Polar expeditions I was unsure whether I would like this book. Most of these types of books that involve disaster are usually followed with a few good times had by all before the worst occurs. This concerned me because it was a solo disaster and on a rubber survival raft at that. I was fairly certain he would be miserable the entire time and this create a very sad read indeed without the occasional comic relief found in group settings. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised, it turned out to be a great book! Yes, there were many horrific days for the poor soul during his 76 day survival story, but more than once he recalls feeling rich when blessed with fish to eat, water to drink, and the sun to dry his body and surroundings. Other times, he describes stroking the backs of the fish that follow him and his attitude remains strong during the majority of his voyage. I like this about him and respect his fortitude. There are definitely some dark days for him, as would be expected. Overall, this book delivered more than I had imagined. Highly recommended!

Adrift is about one man's solitary journey, both internal and external, on the perilous ledge between life and death. Steven Callahan is attempting to cross the Atlantic Ocean from the Canary Islands to Antigua, but before he departs, an elderly fisherman points to his vessel, the 21' long Napoleon Solo, and says, "In such a small boat? Tonto!" Fool. The rest of the journey is fraught with danger, starting from when the Napoleon Solo capsizes and sinks, forcing Callahan to abandon ship in a rubber lifeboat.Anyone battling demons of their own will find solace in Callahan's struggle to survive, which is a metaphor for all mens' struggles to survive an often hostile world with often insurmountable odds."I imagine two stone-faced poker players throwing chips into a pile. One player is named Rescue and the other is Death. The stakes keep getting bigger and bigger. The pile of chips now stands as tall as a man and as big around as a raft. Somebody is going to win soon."The ocean, the sharks, the weather, and hunger are all metaphors for the demons we all battle on a daily basis: joblessness, despair, jealousy, hatred, vengeance. Yet, depite the terrible privations he experiences on the sea, Callahan also experiences moments of profound solace:"As I look out of the raft, I see God's face in the smooth waves, His grace in the dorado's swim, feel His breath against my cheek as it sweeps down from the sky. I see that all creation is made in His image."A truly remarkable tale of survival against the odds, "Adrift" is a a great gift for anyone going through a crisis. It will remind him that "...to be well fed, painless, and in the company of friends and loved ones are privileges too few enjoy in this often brutal world." Well said Callahan!

If you enjoy lifeboat tales then this true story is among the best. I finished it in three sittings. The author describes his desperate escape from his sinking boat and his long and painful journey in a life raft. Getting noticed by a passing freighter is not as likely as it seems!He includes drawings and descriptions of the various repairs and adaptations that enabled him to survive. I appreciate that the Kindle version included the drawings though they were a little hard to make out. He also describes how he navigated, as well as his physical condition which became very bad from starvation and the constant exposure to salt water. Glad to know that Steven Callahan continues to write about sailing, and that he was a consultant for the film version of Life of Pi.

I really appreciated this book. After sailing and then building my own boat I decided not to cruise. Before finishing my boat I helped deliver a large catamaran from the eastern Carribean to southern California. With that experience under my belt the thought of single handing scared the he'll out of me. Being at sea sometimes you feel like there is no place you would rather be and other times your fear can be so great you do not think you will see another sunrise. Things can go wrong and multiply so quickly. I am sure that scouting, building experience, and a strong desire to live and not give up helped bring Steven Callahan through. I do not have that kind of skill or confidence in myself. I would recommend this book to anyone especially those who think nothing will go wrong or that they are invincible.

Lucky was the fourth book in the No Prisoners MC series by Lilly Atlas.Lucky was introduced to us in previous books as a member of the Vegas chapter and helping out the Arizona chapter from time to time. He was gorgeous and "lucky" with the women, thus the nickname. He had zero interest in settling down but was loved by all.Kori was the long lost daughter of the No Prisoners MC Arizona Chapter's President, Rebel. Her mother gave her the identity of her father on her death bed. Unsure of her direction in life, she set out to meet him. She grew up around MC's and she had one rule, no dating bikers...ever.The two sparked immediately with great banter but Kori stood firm. The storyline progressed and both eventually embraced they had something special worth exploring. I liked that it wasn't drawn out but they were willing to see where it lead. Additionally, I loved their connection. It felt real as their relationship developed.The storyline then focused on the secondary plot that was embedded within the MC. Trouble was brewing with Kori and Lucky thrust in the middle. It was suspenseful and fast paced.Lucky's story was being told simultaneously with Acer, book three. Atlas did a great job intersecting the two with consistency and accuracy. The first half of the book was set in Vegas. For the last half, the AZ members that we've come to know and love were then a prominent part and brought it to conclusion.I thoroughly enjoyed Lucky's story. It was well written, well developed, emotional, action packed and totally enjoyable. I can't wait to see where Atlas takes us next in book five, Snake.

So, I am so torn between giving this book a 3 vs. 4 stars. I was IN LOVE with Lucky in the prior books and couldn't wait for his story. I still love him (he's a sweetie) and I liked Kori - she is the daughter of the shady Prez of the MC but I didn't really care for the backstory of how she came to meet Lucky. I liked the chemistry between Kori and Lucky and I was happy they had their HEA, but the backstory of her relationship to the Prez (he's her long lost father) and his complete disregard for her welfare didn't seem realistic. Because I didn't think it was plausible, it was kind of distracting for me. I wanted the book to focus more on Lucky and Kori and less on the MC drama, if that makes sense. I'm still a big fan, just didn't connect to that aspect of the plot

I loved this book just like her other books with hot and sexy bikers. Kori finds out who her father is when her mom's on her death bed, hethe President of the No Prisoner of Las Vegas, so at the club she meets this sexy biker name Lucky who only takes woman to bed one or two times, that is until they have hot sex and of course that all changes. Her dad and his vice president are dealing with drugs and Lucky doesn't like it for their club isn't into that since his sister died from them, anyways, her dad wants her to marry his vice president and that turns Lucky into a tale spin and of course goes to another chapter club in Arizona for help so he can bring them down and Kori tells Lucky the truth. there'ssome violence and of course hot sex. which I enjoy a lot!

Kori has just lost her mom to cancer and he mom drop a secrets right in her lap.now Kori is in Vegas to meet her dad but maybe this isn’t such a good ideal even though she knows all about MC life she doesn’t want anything to do with it. Until she meets Lucky. But there is trouble she doesn’t know she has walked right into. So enjoy the read and see what kind of trouble and how they will get out of it ! !

I'm sad to say I didn't love Luckys story. Not sure why but I just couldn't connect with the characters like I did in Sticker & Jester.The first 2 books in the series I loved. Acer's story was ok and Lucky's so far is my least favorite. Snake's book is next and he was so awful in previous books I don't have much of an interest in his story.

Awesome book. Loved Lucky's story it was a wild ride. The no prisoners series is awesome, and I am so looking forward to snakes story. But what about the Vegas chapter? Who will become president now? I was kinda thinking they would give it to lucky but that didn't happen. The Vegas chapter stayed in turmoil.. Nothing else said about it. Hope you have a story for that one, would like to see what happens there. But I love your series:)

A hot charming biker, a cheeky, lively heroine and a layered plot. Off the chart chemistry and heat. The storyline is highlighted with quick witty banter, disloyally and treachery. But loyalty among the No Prisoners reigns supreme which makes payback and revenge that much sweeter. Of course what is even sweeter is the HEA. I look forward to more books in this. series.

I could not wait to get my hands on Lucky's story ever since we met him in the last book! It was awesome seeing Lucky fall to his knees for Kori and finally giving up his playboy status. Just like the rest of the series, this book has a great storyline, lots of action and lots of steam. Definitely a must read.

Day is an autonomy-oriented theorist and practitioner, whose work focuses on creating non-statist, non-capitalist, post-colonial, sustainable alternatives to the dominant global order. This was s not really what I expected.. but nevertheless a great book .. when it said usable stencils I though it would have usable stencils not just pics which are stencils .. also smaller than expected a little lager than a novel rather than art book size ..

Interesting as a history book, but be aware there are not actual stencils in this book. These are the monotone images you can copy onto another medium, and then you will have to cut out your own stencils.

This book helped me stencil a bond between me and my feminist sister.

Not what I was expecting but I still was able to work with it.

What a charming story! The author and illustrator combine their talents to create a wonderful, captivating story for all ages. Historically accurate, the story will educate and inspire readers in many ways. Simply amazing!

Such a great book about a strong girl that choses her own path. My girls love it! And my son too!

Tillie Anderson appeared to be a typical hard-working immigrant girl, laboring in a tailor shop. But when a man on a bicycle rides by the shop, she begins saving up her money to buy one of the new-fangled contraptions, despite warnings from her mother that bicycles aren't for ladies.Tillie wasn't interested in riding gracefully around a maypole, like other girls; she started training to get strong enough to ride fast, really fast. But there was a problem--her 19th century dresses. Soon Tillie designed herself a more aerodynamic bicycle outfit, one that scandalized the whole neighborhood. But Tillie didn't care if her friends and family thought she was "wicked"; she soon was entering her first cycling races, breaking women's records left and right and becoming the women's bicycle-racing champion of the world. She became famous, with poets writing her odes, bicycle companies looking for endorsements, and reporters wanting to interview her. Some male cyclists thought Tillie was "unwomanly," and doctors even examined her to see what the effects of all that hard exercise would be on a woman's body. They found her, not surprisingly, to be a "mass of muscle," and put a picture of her leg in the newspaper! Imagine how shocking in those days, when a mere glimpse of a woman's ankle was viewed as something sexy and forbidden.The reader can't help but be inspired by the story of this remarkable woman, a celebrity in the era before female athletes were accepted. Sarah McMenemy's bright and colorful gouache and collage illustrations are simply charming, and add immeasurably to the appeal of this tale. The opening end papers show the accessories of a proper Victorian lady, depicted in a soft, feminine lavender, while the end papers at the conclusion of the book feature a year-by-year breakdown of Tillie's records and her cycling victories, seen on a background of a vibrant lime green, decorated with trophies, Tillie on her bicycle, and swirls of speed. This is a great story to share with girls of all ages.

It's always fun for kids to read about passionate, determined, ahead-of-their-time individuals, and Tillie Anderson is the perfect example of that. In the 1890s, young ladies weren't supposed to get all hot and sweaty on bikes [or on anything else, for that matter], but that was just what Tillie wanted. She wanted to cycle and she wanted to win. She devised her own workouts during an era in which it was shocking for women to be seen exerting themselves in physical ways. Using her sewing skills, she devised her own bicycling outfit, and some of her neighbors stopped speaking to her, shocked at her for being unladylike. When she entered her first century race [a race of one hundred miles], she broke the women's record by a long shot. Winning more races, she became a star, and made some racing enemies who tried to stop her by putting tacks on the tracks. Calling herself Tillie the Terrible Swede, she even had a photograph of her muscular leg published in the newspaper. This was an entertaining, well told story of a young woman who was determined to do what she was passionate about in spite of societal disapproval. I loved the pacing, the anecdotes, and the retro illustrations. I would definitely recommend this juvenile biography to children in grades 1-4.
