I'm a parent and have been music teacher for over 20 years, in public and private schools and studios. Surprisingly, it's pretty difficult to find books on composers written for kids. Over the years, I developed my lesson plans by culling through my college music history books, encyclopedic compilations (e.g. Grove's Music Dictionary, Oxford Junior Music Companion), or biographies of composers written for adults. This series is absolutely FANTASTIC, and perfect for school-age children, whether you're a teacher or a parent. I bought all the books in the series, which include many wonderful composers, including contemporaries like Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein, who are frequently overlooked in school-age education in favor of the usual, Mozart and Beethoven. Illustrations on every page along with the text, makes this series engaging and appealing for adults reading to children or children who are reading. Two thumbs way up!

bought for grand children ... they love it along with other books for kids about classical composers and CD's that I picked for them. I also bought them a Cd player of their own so they can listen to various passages of music on their own ... they love it all and ask each other when hearing a piece whether it is Mozart or Beethoven or ... - grkids range from 4 to 9

My son loves all these collections and enjoy reading them all.

Thought this series was great for my elementary students, grade 3 and above (to gr. 8?). It has a lot of serious info about the composer, but also little caricatures & comic book-style pics in most pages. which would appeal to young people.Will definitely buy more of these books about different composers.

This whole series of books is fantastic for introducing great composers. I wish there were a lot more of them. They would be great in any home library and I get a lot of information from them to use in my fine arts program. Concise and complete.

As a teacher, I love this series! My goal is to teach my 3rd graders about the famous artists and composers. This series makes it easy, fun, and interesting!

This volume is extremely helpful in gaining the proper context and therefore a proper interpretation of what the bible is actually saying.

This will be a handy reference for getting some idea about the events, peoples, settings and times when the New Testament Scriptures were originally written. There does appear to be some bias on the part of the author regarding interpretation in some areas but he's not overly dogmatic.

I valued the book in its first edition, but the Kindle edition is even better. It's very easy to navigate and find the passage you're looking for. Five stars!

This commentary focuses on giving the reader background information on each verse. It does not try to give a theological interpretation of the verses. Therefore, it is a good source for someone who is trying to study the Bible for themselves without being influenced by theological bias of the author.

Sticks to the cultural and historical background. Sometimes the information is more scholarly than I am interested in. Does a good job of presenting facts and information so that the reader can interpret meaning of scripture on his/her own.

I could not understand why pseudographical writings were cited so much. A lot of times he does let the Bible interpret itself and he is to be commended for that.

This book provides a brief commentary on every verse of the New Testament. Anybody who wants to engage in a serious study of God's word should own this. I received it in pristine condition.

I own Justine Cranes first book, Working The Bench 1 , which is a great starting point for a natural perfumer. I wanted a book more in-depth and this book is it! It's extremely thorough and very enjoyable to read. It's astonishing how much information is packed into this book. While reading the book I felt as though I was her apprentice, being divulged secrets that are only learned through experience. This book is very hands on. Be prepared to get right into the art of creating natural perfumes! I really love that she's included a kyphi recipe! She also explores creating your own soap, incense, and candles. The descriptions and information regarding raw materials is excellent, and I find the plethora of information on natural isolates is a great reference. She explains top notes, middle notes, base notes, bridge notes, modifiers, fixatives, fragrance families, and everything inbetween! The part of the book I have found most valuable is evaluations and dilutions. The author uses the French method for creating natural perfumes, which is how I've been creating perfumes since I started, so I was very happy to learn the best way to perform trials, the best dilutions for materials, etc. She even includes her own notes in parts of the text. I really love making my own tinctures, enfleurages, and distilling herbs, plants, trees, flowers and resins. I have found it essential for learning the aroma profiles of natural ingredients and for creating a natural perfume that is unique and all my own. I especially love resins and trying to capture the scent of the many fragrant flowers in my garden. The information in this book regarding tincture, enfleurage, and other extraction techniques, is a perfect starting point for anyone that wants to make their own aromatics, I wish I'd had the information when I began creating my own aromatics. I've been using aromatics for a long time, but in the last couple years have really been enthralled with creating natural perfumes. This book has been very helpful in guiding me to create something that is more than a simple blend of aromatics! I recommend Working the Bench 2 to anyone interested in making their own natural perfumes!

This book could benefit greatly from a professional editing treatment. The information contained in the book is valuable (some of it anyway), but discerning the valuable out of the stream-of-consciousness writing style (WORDSWORDSWORDS -!useful nugget!- WORDSWORDSWORDS) is an exercise in frustration. It’s so difficult to read! The content is totally disorganized. The chapter headings and subheadings sometimes don’t even remotely relate to what’s actually in that chapter. The book is clearly a self-published print-on-demand job, unfortunately printed directly from a poorly-formatted Word document. The author does not know what the word “opaque” means, which makes me wonder what other bits of “knowledge” she imparts might also be totally wrong. A few of the pronunciations in the Glossary gave me a chuckle (in that they’re silly AND wrong). Pages upon pages of the book are filled with nothing more than copied and pasted blank tables meant to show how you should record the results of your trials. The Bibliography & Sources section is completely nonsensical. So yeah, in a word, frustrating.HOWEVER. The author clearly know her materials, and knows them well. So I can’t discount the whole book based on the amateur writing and lack of editing. I do feel a bit cheated having paid a lot of money for very little usable information, but the 30 or so pages of REALLY useful stuff may very well prove to be worth it. I’m mainly referring to her thorough descriptions of a number of natural isolates, though I do wish she would have included info on what materials the isolates are typically derived from. She does seem to know what she’s talking about. If only she would find herself a decent editor.

I am reading this book every day. You can go to any page and learn something. Justine pours her heart in this book because of years and tears of trying and learning and planning and working the bench. Excellent! I am very pleased!

This is an art that takes years to master and you are on your way with this thorough and delicious book. I make my own greeting cards, and these little stickers work very well for me. They are about 1/2 inch size, so they also would work well in scrapbooking, which is my next craft project. A few of the stickers have small messages on them, like "Love You"; most are just the small bouquets of flowers. The price is also great. I'll keep buying these.

I'm always a big fan of these sticker books, I have purchased many before this and will probably continue to buy many more. Some books have less pages/stickers than others but this seems to have quite a bit. Beautiful as always and I have never had a problem with them not sticking to anything.

These little stickers are great. The print is vivid and bright and the designs small enough to not obstruct whatever it is you are sealing or decorating. The adhesive is pretty good too, but hardly permanent. However, the stickers are cut in circles and not tightly around the design, which leaves a large white space around it. It will look fine if you're sticking on a white surface, but will look terrible if the paper is colored.

Great stickers, exactly as pictured.. but they are a bit small for envelope seals which is why I bought them. Don't seem to keep large envelopes sealed so I had to use two. Perfect for small cards. Otherwise great stickers to have in my collection!

Lovely patterns but not too sticky. I have to press it very hard to make it actually stick to my envelope openings and keep the envelope closed.

OK but "Alice In Wonderland" is cuter

I like adding these to the envelope of a greeting card.
