Aaron Sprecher taught at Syracuse University School of Architecture and McGill University School of Architecture. His research and design work focus on the synergy between information technologies, computational languages and digital fabrication systems, examining the way in which technology informs and generates innovative approaches to design processes. He currently leads the Material Topology Research Laboratory (MTRL) at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. About the Author

Keely Hutton is an educational journalist and former teacher. She is the recipient of the Highlights Foundation Writers Workshop scholarship at Chautauqua. Since 2012, she has been working closely with Ricky Richard Anywar to tell his story. Soldier Boy is her first novel.Ricky Richard Anywar is the founder of the internationally acclaimed charity Friends of Orphans, and a former child soldier in Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). Since escaping the LRA, Anywar has dedicated his life to rehabilitating other survivors and advocating for peace in their communities.

Is this book on your summer reading list? It should be. Two words: Page turner! Caution: Once you start reading it, you will never want to put it down. I read 148 pages in one sitting! I had to put it down to eat dinner! This novel will take you on a remarkable journey in which you will find hope in the face of fear, love in the shadows of hate, and forgiveness in a heart filled with despair. Keely tells a story of a remarkably strong young boy, Ricky, who was kidnapped by the LRA and pressed on through the trials and torture he faced as a child soldier in Joseph Kony's war. Ricky's strength of mind and spirit serve as his guide as he tries to find 'Obeno' (home) once again. This novel should be in the hands of everyone...adults and students.

Soldier Boy is a book that needed to be written and needs to be read by everyone - adults and young adults as well. The resiliency of one man (Ricky Richard Anywar) in the face of so much adversity is an example for us all. In addition, the author's (Keely Hutton) style of writing, articulation, and organization of the content of this book is perfect, the reader gets the sense that he/she is right there in Uganda. There is so much to be learned, on so many levels, that when finished news clippings about child abductions take on a whole new meaning and the only thing left to say is "I am so much more informed and glad that I read Soldier Boy".

I think this book should be read in every school so that kids in this country would know how fortunate they are. There was some violence and lots of scenes that were hard to read but I finished with a feeling that I had really learned something. As the mother of three sons, I can't imagine the horror that these poor people suffered at the hands of really evil people. I commend Keeley Hutton for writing this book. It must have been very difficult.

Last night I finished reading Keely Hutton's SOLDIER BOY. Actually, I completed it at 3AM, because I couldn't put it down. I'm so impressed with Keely's commitment to her craft and her gift as a writer. Despite the agony in those pages, she pulled me through, with her amazing ability to find just the right words. And the hope both she and Ricky Richard Anywar offer. Though there are violent scenes (it IS real, after all), nothing is gratuitous. And the alternating stories create a perfect balance. Well done!

Not only is this a great book, but the author is such a gem! She took the time to Skype with my 10th grade English class and they were hanging on her every word. Some of my most reluctant readers were passing around this book, very interested in it.

A very powerful book- I highly recommend. Heartbreaking and shocking at times. Beyond distressing that such unspeakable atrocities can occur in our modern world. What an amazing human being to find a way to show acts of kindness amidst such horror and rise above it to help others. Really inspiring. Thank you Keely Hutton for sharing Ricky's amazing story.

This book is at times overwhelming but is a must read. Constant action and good narrative. It is such a sad situation in Uganda and any nation that kidnaps children to fight wars. What Ricky and the others witness at such a young age is beyond belief. Keely Hutton's writing and this story highlight the need for all of us to support the orphans and the children who are so misused in this world.

This is without a doubt one of the best books I have read in years. It is based on what really happened and I encourage all to read it. High School English teachers: this would be an excellent book for your students to read and discuss. Keely is an up and coming author. I cnnot wait to read her next book!

About the Author

I've always found writing biographies to be rather painful. I will instead share with you how the book came about and in so doing hope to share with you more information about myself than you'll find in a traditional bio - Life on the Isle of Thanet, S.E. England and found it to be a small community where news travels fast. Word seeped out that I was working on a tome which included the Knights Templar. I was approached by a man claiming to be a modern-day descendant of the banished Order. This caused a raised eyebrow on my part, and I approached the meeting with caution. The discussion bore fruit, and I was not disappointed in the years that followed as the information that was given proved accurate. The content of the discussion was so astonishing that I found myself altering the course of the book which was not an easy decision to make in mid-stride, but its compelling nature gave me no other choice. I was shown a map with 'energy lines' crossing over the United Kingdom and the world. Now, this is not incredible as ley line hunting is pervasive today, but I was surprised as the lines intersected with specific Ordnance Survey grid reference points across England and Scotland which were related to historic and modern Templar locations. I have never come across such an interesting energy map during my years of research. What are the odds of a correlation between 'ley lines' and a rigid navigation grid of specific historic sites, surely it must be impossible? I was told that there '...was no such thing as coincidence'. My life had changed, and I had become a 'Sub-Rosa Contactee' with a rare opportunity to disseminate esoteric Templarism via an actual physical descendant of the Templars. To protect his identity I chose the name John Temple throughout the book, however towards the end of the writing stage I was to find out his actual heritage which was straight out of a novel. It became necessary to write a new Chapter One so that I could tell his family history which stems from the French crown and the famous bankers of Florence to the lost Celtic kings of Rheged in Cumbria. I included the historical, sacred geometry and mystical information peppered throughout my own research. My contact John Temple is of the Sangreal or blood royal of Jesus and Mary Magdalene the later of which has a strong presence in the book. I followed the story of the Magdalene through Medieval art, illustrated manuscripts up through to the Statue of Liberty and the constellation of Cassiopeia. There is a great deal more to learn about the many subjects covered in the Secret Dossier, and I view it to be the first installment of many.

I enjoyed the first half of the book it makes a good case for what happened to the Templars after tge purge in the 1300’s. Unfortunately the author uses the rest of the book going through multiple unrelated theories (numerology, hermetics, atlanteans, etc) which usually starts with “I am not an expert” which really diminishes any credibility for the first part of the book. Wish the author would have just stuck with the subject and left the half-baked guesses for another book !

From the first page the premise is that of mystery and suspense. Page after page , even with footnotes there is nothing but unsupported opinion, speculation and fantasy. One star is one to many for this book. The reader is advised not to wast their money or their time on this book.

A very well written book that is easy to read. Should be on every serious researchers bookshelf.

Just the bare bone basics. Given how complicated the reporting features are in Access, I'm disappointed that this book doesn't have more detail and tips about constructing queries and tables. What good is a database guide if it doesn't help you create reports to access and review your data in a meaningful way?

I tend to like “for Dummies “ books, except this one was written more like Microsoft’s instructional book. For Dummies used to explain, in simple terms, a lot of the “terminology” used as well as the “how to[s]”. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say she just, simply, copied from the Microsoft book, but didn’t convert it to laymen’s terms. For another words, if we can understand Microsoft’s terminology, we wouldn’t need “for Dummies” books!

It should have had practice lessons. Sad. GCFLearnFree.com is a lot better...and free!

No quite as thorough as the 9 in one series, but a good reference.

Short of taking a long drawn out class, this is the best way to learn Access. Plus, if you forget some point you have the ready reference at your finger tips.

This book contains too much information on subject that I don't have much use for and insufficient information on subjects that I need. This is especially true for code examples. For instance there are many uses for multi-button selection objects but no code that makes them work in Access 2016.

This book made it possible for me to start using Access 2016 the same day I received the download. Good writing.

Would be easier to access with an index (at least in the Kindle Version) to search topics in different chapters.

Not actually a book and I am very disappointed I purchased it.This is a "reproduction" of the original, but rather than reprinting or retype-setting, they simply photographed the pages of the original. It is very difficult to read and in several places the text is so poor that I can't even make out the word.What I purchased was a cheaply bound set of emergency toilet paper.

The author seems to have developed this exhaustive history from annals ( probably Mongolian) supplemented with material from old Chinese histories. The place names and names of persons are totally alien to what we are evenly remotely familiar with. The chronology covers several centuries and is compressed, covering the highlights with many blood curdling episodes that seem beyond reprehensible in modern times. The Mongol strategies seem to have been "swarm and kill, take few prisoners." What I found most enlightening was the record of how the Mongols crushed the Sung Dynasty then ruled China as the Yuan Dynasty and were at length forced to withdraw back into Mongolia by the Ming Dynasty. This is a long and difficult read but we'll worth the effort for those who want a stunning overview of a legendary era ruled by Gengis, Kubali, and their successors.

Very detailed history of the Mongols under Genghis Khan, tracing his rise, and the conquest of Persia, the Middle East, and China, and the fall of the Mongol Empire. Not much about the European invasion. That never amounted to much I guess or the sources he used didn't have much. This book was written at the turn of the century.Especially good was the description of the Middle East at the time of the Mongol conquest. The detailed accounts of how the Mongols won their victories and their use of terror is instructive.It was a bit too detailed in the chapters on China. I couldn't keep straight who was who, which Emperor he was talking about (Chinese or Mongol), and whether a particular general was a Chinese in the service of the Mongols or in the service of the Chinese.Anyway, a familiar story of the rise of a dynasty via the superhuman success of the founder to unify a great people, followed by foreign conquests, assimilation by the subject peoples, and dissolution by decay of the royal family and internecine strife. But, boy, what a story and what a ride.Aside from their DNA, the Mongols didn't leave much behind. They were just horseback barbarians, after all. They really weren't very nice people.

Everything you wanted to know about the Mongol empire and more. Not only is this book a source of a massive amount of information about the Mongol from the rise of Jinghis and his uniting of the tribes to the splintering of the empire due to internal conflict on who would be Khan, it is also a detailed history of events in the Arab world as well as China and Korea during the time. Learning that a "Divine wind" saved Japan from being conquered ad about the Mongol princess who never married because no man could out wrestle her are just a few of the bits woven together in this book.

A serious review of Mongol history, and how it relates to Western history as well as that of Asia. My only issue with the book was the unavoidable use of the Chinese names, which I found difficult to follow because of my own lack of familiarity with them. Very thorough treatment of the violence associated with the Mongol "Golden Horde", and the ancestry of the leaders. Serious students of Chinese and Mongol history would find this book interesting.

about as dense a book as I have ever tried to wade thru... it is an endless list of who begot who with names from a culture I dont' know, so no chance in hell that I can try to follow this endless relation chain. I gave up after about 6% of the book was plowed thru.

The author has mined Mongol archives for the history of the Mongol empire from early days to its end. It is all from the viewpoint of Mongol narrators for official use and is filled with "death by fire and sword" references. It seems to never end but it does cover many centuries and in some detail tells us who they were and how they operated.
