About the Author

Immaculée Ilibagiza lost most of her family during the 1994 genocide. Four years later, she emigrated to the United States and soon began working at the United Nations in New York City. This is an excellent telling of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Kibeho Rwanda in the 1980's. Immaculate Ilibagiza is an excellentstory teller and her personal story is rooted in the modern history of Rwanda. She lost her parents and two of her brothers in the genocide of the 1990's and she is a deeply committed Catholic Christian. The message of Our Lady of Kibeho has relevance for us now: She implores us to repent and return to faith and warns that hatred on one's brothers and sisters will lead to death, personal and spiritual. She also asked that we pray the chaplet of her seven sorrows to lead us into true sorrow for all that separates us from others and the love of God. Our Lady always leads us back to her Son and in these apparitions she wants us to know just how sorrowful Jesus is for the violence and hatred than separates us.

Our Lady of Kibeho is a well-written account of the visionaries of Kibeho and their apparitions. This book relates the stories of eight visionaries who the Blessed Mother and/or Jesus appeared to. Our Lady of Kibeho is the first and only Vatican-approved Marian site in all of Africa. To date the Church has authenticated the visions of three of these eight visionaries, Alphonsine, Anathalie, and Marie-Claire. While thousands of people witnessed the apparitions of the other five, at this time the Church has not investigated these.Most of the apparitions were beautiful and peaceful. They describe the Blessed Mother as bathed in soft light, wearing a dress that must have been made by angels. Her skin shines like polished ivory, but it isn't white or black. There simply are not words to describe her beauty. There were other apparitions, however, of rivers of blood, destruction, torture and tree exploding into flames. The Blessed Mother was warning the people of the horror that awaited Rwanda.Three of the visionaries experienced mystical journeys through time and space in which they were given glimpses of heaven and hell. These accounts are very special to read.Included in this book are prayers and instructions for saying the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows, which the Blessed Mother taught to Marie-Claire and asked her to reintroduce to the world.If you have read Immaculee Ilibagiza's other books, you won't want to miss this one. I highly recommend this book to all Catholics, especially those devoted to Mary.

Include tell the story of her childhood, hoping that Rwanda would benefit from an apparition, like Fatima from Blessed. Mary. It came to pass in the small town of Kibeho. She then tell the development of the site from the first seer, to the next, and the next. While the Church officially recognizes the first three seers, they have neither approved or denied that which Immaculee says all of Rwanda believes about the other seers that seem valid. The Church has for the time being , simply suspended its future investigations in the apparition. The story also tells of Immaculee's visits to Kibeho, and the pain and blessings that have come from visiting the site before the genocide of Rwanda in 1994. The apparitions were from 1981-89. The apparition reintroduced the Rosary of the 7 Sorrows which the author instructs on how to say this at the end of the book. Immaculate survived the genocide I a small bathroom with 7 other women. A great testament of faith.

I had read a book by Janice T. Connell a while ago titled, "Meetings With Mary". The book was a National Best-Seller.After recently engrossed by a few books about paranormal experiences, (including dealing with the demonic), I thought my soul could use a bit of comfort from our Blessed Mother Mary, as she is who I pray to on a daily basis, as well as the Mother I turn to during times in my discourse.So in search of a book of this nature, I was blessed when I found this book, written by an author whom I have the utmost respect for, Immaculee Ilibagiza, a native Tutsi Christian woman from Rwanda.I had previously read her remarkable book about the 3-4 month genocide which the Hutu tribe declared upon the Tutsi tribe--all Christian people. You can read of how the author survived the genocide/holocaust in her autobiography,"Left To Tell". It is a well written book about the history of a country mandating ethnic cleansing--intending to accomplish it in the most horrific of ways.But prior to this war's result, in the beginning to the end of the 1980's, Jesus had his Mother appear to less than a handful of school girls in a place called Kibeho, in Rwanda, Africa. Jesus sent her to 'appear for humanity', thus reappearing to these selected girls to believe in her and her love as their Mother and that she'd reappear at their school area at other times, hoping that it would call an audience of humanitarian togetherness in accordance of peace and love for her son Jesus Christ--thus praising the Father and avoiding violence.At first communication between these selected girls and our Blessed Mother were called upon as fakes so Mary did a test to show the community there that she really was connecting with them. Those children who did believe in Mary's apparitions gave the girl their rosaries to have them blessed...and those who did not believe in the apparitions put their rosaries on the ground with the believer's. Those who believed in the visions of Mary had their rosaries picked up by a girl and Mary blessed them. But those who did not believe had their rosaries stuck within the ground. Those non-believers turned into believers at that point.Mary would always let it be known when she'd be appearing so that the believers would come to witness (not her figure...but her connection with a selected child) any miracles or messages. People would trekk to Kibeho for over a decade to see Mary's miracles,(including the author). Then one day Mary came but the young girls were not told to Bless those who were there but rather, Mary gave them horrific visions of massive rivers of blood flooding throughout the country. The girls receiving the messages could barely handle what they were seeing as Mary had been connecting with them as their Mother in figure, and would never send them such terrifying sights as they witnessed. This, Mary explained is what would be the affect if fighting would not stop between two tribes. The worst imaginable would occur if they would not come together to unify. Years after, in the spring of 1994, close to one million Tutsis were massacred by the Hutu people for 'ethnic cleansing' and it resulted in human carnage as we know of it today. The massacre ended after 4 months, but the results are still brought to light to myself and others, by human rights groups alerts, of which I belong to. Because the country is war-torn, 3rd world and is a problem to this day of refugee displacement, the ghosts of the genocide still remain.Immaculee Ilibagiza told this story well because she was born a Tutsi and had to hide in her own inhumane way (as she tells in "Left to Tell").I see also that this author has written two other books and I am anxious to read them as one of the other has to do with apparitions of Jesus and his Mother. I will certainly read those books as this book was a real joy (even though the inevitable occurred). The context of war which I explained was minimal in this book but I wanted any reader who did not know of it to know about it in her other book.There is a shrine of Mary "Jesus' Mother For Humanity and for being the Blessed Mother of Africa" because of all her apparitions and messages.It is an important part of Rwanda's history.I recommend this book due to the pen of this writer's hand, as well as the comfort I felt in communion with Mary for the many blessings and messages she gave the people in Kibeho, Rwanda Africa.

Another beautful book from Immaculee regarding the apparitions of Mary through three high school students in Kibeho, Rwanda. I am enjoying this book so much - it is just fascinating and I am amazed I didn't hear about it when it started to happen in the 80s. In any case - I love the reading of this story and am enjoying it via my kindle. The messages from Mary are so relevant to all things we are going through on Earth now. It is my prayer that we absorb and act on her messages worldwide.

If there had been more snarky Minho comments I may have enjoyed this book more, but alas, he was barely even mentioned throughout this disappointing conclusion to what started out as a promising trilogy. The Maze Runner had its flaws, yes, but I was engrossed in the story. I wanted to know what would happen to Newt and Minho and Chuck. I wanted to know how they'd escape the Maze. And most importantly, all I wanted to know was why!? As the series progressed, there was presumably a thousand whys I wanted to know, and I thought The Death Cure would answer at least half of them...I thought wrong. Very, very, very wrong.What was that one little thing Thomas was constantly itching for when he was first sent up to the Glade? Anyone remember? Naturally, he'd want his memories back after WICKED stole them from him and he got himself shredded to bits from a griever just for a little snippet of them. Right? It was killing him as he trekked across the Scorch that he couldn't discern the flashes of his memories, so it should be a no-brainer that Thomas would jump the first ship that can grant him his memories, right? Well now, WICKED is handing him his memories back on a silver platter. Thomas, since he's such an incredibly ingenious individual will of course accept this offer, right? Right? Well, surprise surprise! He doesn't.Let me just wrap my head around this. You, Thomas, have been yapping on and on and on about how you've been wanting your memories back, since the moment we met you, correct? Not only, are you given an opportunity to get your memories back, but also, to possibly save the human race, including (view spoiler). You don't think that there's even a remote chance that you alone could help WICKED find a cure and save thousands of lives? After everything that's happened, I understand that you don't trust WICKED, but honestly, what else do you think they're going to do to you? Do you not realize that if they really wanted you dead, you'd be that way already. I thought you were the one who stupidly ran into the Maze to save a guy you didn't even like. You may have been an idiot, but at least you were a selfless idiot.James Dashner, that was a very cheap way for you to keep Thomas in the dark. *glares furiously at laptop screen*What I find quite ironic, is that I never would have discovered that the entire trilogy revolved around a tremendous plot hole, if Dashner hadn't invented it himself. For those of you who don't know, James Dashner has another series called The Mortality Doctrine, which centralizes around the idea that human beings have become obsessed with the VirtNet - a virtual reality, similar to the Matrix. In the VirtNet, humans plug into the NerveBox (very creative names, indeed) which enables the user's brain to feel everything he/she experiences in the virtual reality...including pain. Sounds like a much simpler solution to an otherwise difficult problem, eh?If WICKED has the technology to create a FlatTrans, don't you think they'd be able to construct a virtual reality that can manipulate the subject's brain to perceive essential emotions and feelings? We're talking about the same organization that has a chip in Thomas' brain, so he can speak telepathically to Teresa. Clearly, they have the advancement in technology to construct a virtual reality and create seemingly real, stressful situations. It would also be a much more controlled and effective experiment.Variables. It's all about the variables. I still don't understand why finding a cure relies on variables. Why did the variables have to be so specific (i.e. Teresa making Thomas feel betrayed)? How does that affect the Munies' brains? Is whatever makes them immune encoded in their genetic makeup, or is it some kind antibody or combating pathogen that's only secreted in their brain? How does studying their behaviors to x and y variables help you find a cure?Deus ex machina. I say this phrase quite often, even when it doesn't entirely make sense in the context. It simply means an unexpected power or event saving a seemingly hopeless situation, especially as a contrived plot device in a play or novel. Very fitting for the ending of The Death Cure. (view spoiler)There you have if, folks! This poorly written, potential-filled story ends as a train wreck. I feel like The Maze Runner could've been spectacular if it was written better, ended on a more realistic conclusion, and didn't have a sorry excuse for a protagonist. I'll still watch the movies of course, because so far, they're better than the books. “As we tried to instill in each of our subjects over and over, WICKED is good.”

Having read the first two books in the Maze Runner series, I decided to venture into book three, The Death Cure by James Dashner. This book picks up right where book two left off, the main character Thomas being recaptured by the organization WICKED. They have chosen Thomas and his remaining friends to participate in the final stage of testing to fight a disease called “The Flare”. We are brought alongside Thomas on a journey out into a zombie-like apocalyptic world.I had a two-sided experience with reading this book. On one hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure Dashner takes us on. I loved the picture he paints of how biological warfare could lead to the crumble of society as we know it. The fictional, yet realistic take on what the future of earth could hold thrilled me. The world Dashner describes resembles what we see around us today, only with an eerie twist. On the other hand, I felt that the dialogue was slow and a bit sticky. I would recommend devouring this book at a fast pace, enabling you to speed through the sometimes-stale dialogue and enjoy the plot. I would definitely recommend this book for young adult readers but perhaps not any higher reading level.

I'm starting to lose faith in humanity. How is it that so many of the "#1 best seller" books I read turn out to be such complete disappointments. I had heard a lot of great things about this book, with people comparing it to the Hunger Games, etc. Let me tell you, this is NO Hunger Games. The writing is no where near as good as in the Hunger Games, the character development is either non-existent or completely inconsistent, and the plot and explanation for why the kids are in the maze make absolutely no sense (I consume a lot of sci-fi/fiction, so I'm pretty much a pro at suspending disbelief. There's no amount of suspension of disbelief that would get you to buy any of the "explanations" this book gives you for why things are the way they are). Also, the characterizations of the female characters is horrible. So horrible, in fact, it made me wonder if the author had been going through a bad divorce when he was writing the series. Why does he hate women so much?Some of you may be wondering, if you hate it so much, why give it 2 stars? Well, first of all, the dude finished writing a trilogy, so A for effort. And, despite all its flaws, I can kind of see why others would like it. So, I'm giving it 2 stars. Though, I reserve the right to change my mind later.********************SPOILER ALERT*****************************I'll try and leave these spoilers as vague as possible in case someone does some accidental scrolling. BUT OH MY GAWD. Why are the characters soooo flippin' dumb when they're supposed to be some sort of geniuses?!?! I wanted to scream at some of the decisions that the main character made (and not in the fun scary movie "don't go down into the basement!" kind of way. At least in scary movies, you can just assume that the characters are not too bright or are too traumatized to make a good decision. In this book, you know that the kids are supposed to be geniuses who were groomed for this task. So what the heck?! Why the stupid decisions that make absolutely no sense?!?!?!).Also, the reason they were put through the maze... I don't even have words. I challenge anyone to try and convince me that it makes sense in any way. The science of it all is completely nonsensical, even if you give the author a lot of leeway. I think this author should just give up on writing any book that involves any sort of science. Unless it's just to report some basic fact like "the Earth is round."And, lastly, the female characters in the book. What. The. Heck. There are basically 3 main females. The first one, of course, is somehow romantically linked to the main character and vacillates from either being completely useless or ruining everything. The second one is supposed to be some great fighter or something, but what's one of the first things she does? She comes on to the main character and is all "come hither, you sexy beast." (well, not in those words exactly, but she might as well have said that). And the third female is that head scientist lady, who, seriously, has got to be the stupidest scientist ever. Actually, I don't even know if she was really a scientist. She was so dumb. No, I've decided she couldn't have been a real scientist. She was just a super manipulative person who ruined people's lives because of some less-than-flimsy theory. And the lesson you learn at the end of the series? No female can be trusted. They are duplicitous she-devils who are just out to manipulate every situation. I would've liked the book much better if they had just left out all the female characters.Oh! and one more obnoxious thing in the book. What was up with the character Jorge and his constant use of the words "muchacho" and "hermano?" It just seemed so awkwardly forced and very cliché. If you're going to make a character be bilingual, don't fall back on stereotypes from 30 years ago.In summary... I don't recommend this book. Read it if you want. If you end up not liking it, don't say I didn't warn you. If you liked it, well, let's just take comfort in the fact that we will never have to be friends.

a good book, but not a good one for a full study of Revelation as the author jumps many chapters. Especially the chapters that have a great deal of imagery that is hard to grasp without some guidance. Might be wise to use this as another reference book along with others Revelation studies.

Great Bible study of Revelation

We were searching for a book on Revelations and since we are huge fans of Max Lucado, we thought this would be just what we were looking for. However, this book is only a workbook to write comments in after a self study. Should have returned it, but missed the timeframe.

If u like Max Lucado u'll like this Bible Study .. BUT be aware that it does NOT cover the entire book of Revalation; I purchased it to assist me in preparing my lessons on the middle chapters, specifically 6-9, & 14-15 but this book only covers ch 1-5, 19-23; nothing in between; so it didn't help me at all!

Simple, manageable study of Revelation. Does not delve into much of the prophetic parts, but does a good job of making the book relatable.

Max doesn't touch the tribulation period at all..says nothing about the rapture one way or Another...What he says is okay...but not up to his usual work.

I like this book for my toddler who is obsessed with the moon. I read this book aloud to my daughter while my husband was in the room. I thought it was great until the very last page. I can't remember the exact words, but it talks about the moon being dead. I wish it ended on a positive note. My husband and I both had the same reaction to the last page.

'The Moon' is clearly written, and gives and amazing amount of information in an easy to understand sort of way. The text is white on a black backround and causes the reader to focus on the pictures while reading the book. I am so impressed with the clear delivery of information blended with the incredible pictures that I am going to purchase more of Seymour Simon's work.

This book is not at all what it is presented as. The first few chapters are a list of anti military positions substantiated with cherry picked examples to justify them. There is no reasonable or balanced analysis or support for the statements. After the first few chapters the true purpose for this propaganda document comes out. It is a pro-Sikh separatist manifesto. The Sikhs are the good people and everyone else is evil and picking on the Sikhs. Again there is no balanced analysis and a lot of cherry picked examples passed off as proof. i for one have no animosity toward Sikhs, their culture or religion. But I do have a problem with a one sided political pamphlet disguised and promoted as a piece of scholarly analysis - Basically Garbage.

I read War 101. it has great insights on the idea development for peace approach. If a reader is looking to find a book based on war strategies, psychological warfare, etc, this might not be the one. This book contains ideas that I find ahead of time. Excellent ideas, we live now in a society where primitive behavior is the main factor. The author clearly offers an idea on how the masses perceive and has perceived in the past the concept of war and peace. Countries and cultures have vanished by the standard of freedom...freedom becomes oppression. We support violence in order to freed other countries...we collectively want to believe that we are the liberators when in reality we are the oppressor. In order to understand this book, you need to have an open mind and read the message hidden in the sentence. The sublime message that whispers to our ears, but our eyes cannot see. It need to be read with an educated sense.

In the book it explains why war happens and all the other behind the scenes issues that almost nobody wants to talk about. As Mike said, "Information can be structured to deceive the reader, viewer, or listener, and a lie can be sold as a truth if presented and publicized as if it was." This book is not just a book of war, it’s written beautifully, so beautiful anyone would be able to open their mind to the insight provided.

Behind the scenes is exactly how this book presents itself and it goes beyond the black and white of war, but what unfolds behind the reasons of war and is a very informative read. Good info. Easy to read. Clear. Well presented. Useful.

All the way back in 1999 a 51 yo family member lay dying of liver failure due to the so called Celtic Curse/Hemochromatosis. Which is rather common among people of western European ancestory. We hadn’t been aware of such a problem until this happened.The doctors told us to prepare for their death.I had general knowledge that your liver can regenerate and didn’t want to give up hope.So I went to my local hippy health food store which I frequented on occasion and spoke to the owner. He opened his hippy store bible (this book) and showed me the things it would take to help purge the toxins and restore the liver.I had the doctor discharge her into my care to come home to die. She had a nurse coming to the house and was being interveinously hydrated etc.I began the hippy regiment immediately.It wasn’t easy and it took time HOWEVER she walked into her next doctors apptment and lived almost 2 decades longer (she recently passed away of another ailment).The doctors were astonished.Healing the body is not what medications do. The care and treatment this book guides us to is where true healing can occur. What is the body missing? What is the catalysis that the problem stemmed from in the first place?I use this incessantly, it is a book of true hope & healing.

This is the 3rd edition of this book that I have had. It is an EXCELLENT resource for information about many medical conditions, as well as nutritional advice for healing and/or alleviating symptoms. Very thorough explanations of each condition including cause(s), symptoms and what you can expect as the condition progresses and prognosis. Even explains conventional medical treatment(s) and whether or not these treatments are successful and any side effects or detrimental results of them. It also gives information about the benefits of all vitamins, symptoms of deficiency and information about many many herbs and supplements. The only book that is superior to this one is the Holy Bible! I will NEVER be without this superior resource, as evidenced by my purchases of each new edition. I refer to it constantly. And the best health food store in Denver has a copy of it on a podium for use by customers and staff. I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone, and have recommended it to family members and friends for years. And this new edition is even better than the previous ones.

Comprehensive book that covers a MULTITUDE of topics, this book should be in every home. You never know when you may need to "call" on it! Just over a year ago, a good friend of ours stopped by saying that his wife was very sick having been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. (She was nor is a drinker.) He was not expecting her to be on this earth for much longer. At that time someone had lent us an older version of this book for another situation. After our friend left we immediately looked up what this book had to say and got the information to our dying friend. That information literally SAVED her life! As she began to follow the directions of what not to eat etc. we began to see her health improve. She had got that she could not walk, was extremely thin and yes, looked like death was on her doorstep. Today, she is not 100% cured and unlikely to ever be so BUT she is walking, she has put on weight and more importantly is still very much alive.When asked about helping someone else with a different diagnosis we figured it was time to purchase this book for ourselves. For the money this book is PRICELESS! Pages and pages of information and helpful advice to set you back on your feet towards a healthy life. We purchased this book used. I decided to come back and write a review of this book 6 years later because the book was sitting next to me as I type and I figured why not? I have owned a number of these editions of this book. I usually wear them out! They are like the go to "bible" for natural healing. When doctors cannot help you and you have no where else to turn, or perhaps you just want to heal yourself naturally, this book is amazing. Laid out in such an easy to follow format with eating patterns that would be best for certain ailments, what herbs to take, what natural methods to use. I highlight mine and turn to it all the time for simple ailments to arthritis to whatever. I have nothing negative to say about this book. In the digital age, this is one very nice actual book to have in your hands for reference!

This series of books has been my mainstay for years--since I was diagnosed with what they then termed as terminal, with no known treatment. I used it to look up every element of my illness, then began a regimen of supplements geared to each. My diagnosis? 12 years ago.
