It's a good book of introducing Buddhism, showing the benefits of Buddhism Study to the modern world, and a guide to daily practice. It's easy to read and understand. I specially like a sentence in the book, "It is difficult to change others, but we can improve ourselves". Yes, Buddhism practice is to improve ourselves, to be happier in the present life, and toward Enlightenment, a real "happily ever after".

This book is not at all what it is presented as. The first few chapters are a list of anti military positions substantiated with cherry picked examples to justify them. There is no reasonable or balanced analysis or support for the statements. After the first few chapters the true purpose for this propaganda document comes out. It is a pro-Sikh separatist manifesto. The Sikhs are the good people and everyone else is evil and picking on the Sikhs. Again there is no balanced analysis and a lot of cherry picked examples passed off as proof. i for one have no animosity toward Sikhs, their culture or religion. But I do have a problem with a one sided political pamphlet disguised and promoted as a piece of scholarly analysis - Basically Garbage.

I read War 101. it has great insights on the idea development for peace approach. If a reader is looking to find a book based on war strategies, psychological warfare, etc, this might not be the one. This book contains ideas that I find ahead of time. Excellent ideas, we live now in a society where primitive behavior is the main factor. The author clearly offers an idea on how the masses perceive and has perceived in the past the concept of war and peace. Countries and cultures have vanished by the standard of freedom...freedom becomes oppression. We support violence in order to freed other countries...we collectively want to believe that we are the liberators when in reality we are the oppressor. In order to understand this book, you need to have an open mind and read the message hidden in the sentence. The sublime message that whispers to our ears, but our eyes cannot see. It need to be read with an educated sense.

"They were trained to hum the tune by which they march" is one of my favorite quotes from this book. In the book it explains why war happens and all the other behind the scenes issues that almost nobody wants to talk about. As Mike said, "Information can be structured to deceive the reader, viewer, or listener, and a lie can be sold as a truth if presented and publicized as if it was." This book is not just a book of war, it’s written beautifully, so beautiful anyone would be able to open their mind to the insight provided.

Behind the scenes is exactly how this book presents itself and it goes beyond the black and white of war, but what unfolds behind the reasons of war and is a very informative read. The negative reviews left for this book is without a doubt false and possibly left by intentions to harm the author's ratings I would give them no mind and purchase this book to have a better understanding to what happens behind the scenes of War 101.

All the way back in 1999 a 51 yo family member lay dying of liver failure due to the so called Celtic Curse/Hemochromatosis. Which is rather common among people of western European ancestory. We hadn’t been aware of such a problem until this happened.The doctors told us to prepare for their death.I had general knowledge that your liver can regenerate and didn’t want to give up hope.So I went to my local hippy health food store which I frequented on occasion and spoke to the owner. He opened his hippy store bible (this book) and showed me the things it would take to help purge the toxins and restore the liver.I had the doctor discharge her into my care to come home to die. She had a nurse coming to the house and was being interveinously hydrated etc.I began the hippy regiment immediately.It wasn’t easy and it took time HOWEVER she walked into her next doctors apptment and lived almost 2 decades longer (she recently passed away of another ailment).The doctors were astonished.Healing the body is not what medications do. The care and treatment this book guides us to is where true healing can occur. What is the body missing? What is the catalysis that the problem stemmed from in the first place?I use this incessantly, it is a book of true hope & healing.

This is the 3rd edition of this book that I have had. It is an EXCELLENT resource for information about many medical conditions, as well as nutritional advice for healing and/or alleviating symptoms. Very thorough explanations of each condition including cause(s), symptoms and what you can expect as the condition progresses and prognosis. Even explains conventional medical treatment(s) and whether or not these treatments are successful and any side effects or detrimental results of them. It also gives information about the benefits of all vitamins, symptoms of deficiency and information about many many herbs and supplements. The only book that is superior to this one is the Holy Bible! I will NEVER be without this superior resource, as evidenced by my purchases of each new edition. I refer to it constantly. And the best health food store in Denver has a copy of it on a podium for use by customers and staff. I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone, and have recommended it to family members and friends for years. And this new edition is even better than the previous ones.

Comprehensive book that covers a MULTITUDE of topics, this book should be in every home. You never know when you may need to "call" on it! Just over a year ago, a good friend of ours stopped by saying that his wife was very sick having been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. (She was nor is a drinker.) He was not expecting her to be on this earth for much longer. At that time someone had lent us an older version of this book for another situation. After our friend left we immediately looked up what this book had to say and got the information to our dying friend. That information literally SAVED her life! As she began to follow the directions of what not to eat etc. we began to see her health improve. She had got that she could not walk, was extremely thin and yes, looked like death was on her doorstep. Today, she is not 100% cured and unlikely to ever be so BUT she is walking, she has put on weight and more importantly is still very much alive.When asked about helping someone else with a different diagnosis we figured it was time to purchase this book for ourselves. For the money this book is PRICELESS! Pages and pages of information and helpful advice to set you back on your feet towards a healthy life. We purchased this book used. I decided to come back and write a review of this book 6 years later because the book was sitting next to me as I type and I figured why not? I have owned a number of these editions of this book. I usually wear them out! They are like the go to "bible" for natural healing. When doctors cannot help you and you have no where else to turn, or perhaps you just want to heal yourself naturally, this book is amazing. Laid out in such an easy to follow format with eating patterns that would be best for certain ailments, what herbs to take, what natural methods to use. I highlight mine and turn to it all the time for simple ailments to arthritis to whatever. I have nothing negative to say about this book. In the digital age, this is one very nice actual book to have in your hands for reference!

About the Author

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Eddie Landsberg began classical piano training at the age of 5, starting his Jazz Studies at Settlement Music School in his teens. Switching to Hammond Organ, he received his first organ lesson from the legendary Shirley Scott and studied composition and performance with Big John Patton, with additional guidance from Austin Mitchell (an early Jazz organist who was a favorite accompanist of Ella Fitzgerald.) Eddie holds a B.A. in Music from Thomas Edison State University and has done Graduate work at Rutgers University. After recording several CDs which received national radio play in the U.S and serving as a studio demonstrator for the Nord Electro organ, he moved to Japan where he spent almost 20 years teaching, leading bandstands and doing studio work. He returned to the U.S. in 2017.

Like the Author my son holds a BA in Jazz performance guitar and he too spent time in Japan so when I asked him which book ( this one or Blake Neely's) would benefit me more he said hands down this book is the better of the two. The teaching style is easier to grasp and the method modern and well thought out. He could not be more spot on. As a 60 year old amateur musician I found the concepts in Mr. Landsbergs' book easy to follow and better yet easy to retain. So thrilled! I can praise this book enough and I look forward to book 2 as soon as it comes out for the kindle. Now I really enjoy my fake books. I learned so much from this book I feel confidant to start composing.Thank you Eddie!
